Power-BI for Business Professionals
A program designed to guide you from fundamental to advanced concepts of financial analysis using Microsoft Power BI.
This training will show you how to easily transform data into clear and actionable reports.
Description
The program includes initial setup of Power BI with desktop version installation, as well as an introduction to Power BI Service and report sharing capabilities. It covers both basic and advanced use of DAX for creating calculations, along with familiarization with various types of visualizations.
The final three weeks of the training are dedicated to creating various reports and dashboards, allowing for review of all learned concepts and enabling deeper understanding and enhanced practical experience in working with financial analyses.

- Installing Power BI Desktop and Getting Acquainted
- Introduction to Power BI Service
2. Connecting and Importing Data
- Connecting to various data types including CSV files, Excel files, and folders, as well as establishing connections with SQL Server.
3. Introduction to Data Modeling
- Fundamentals of Modeling
- Modeling and relations
- Star Schema vs Snowflake Schema
4. Basic Calculations in DAX
- Calculated Columns and Creating Measures: When to Use Each.
- Detailed Overview of Basic DAX Calculations and Their Application: Sum, Average, Min, Max, Divide, Count, Calculate, and More.
5. Types of Visualizations
- Detailed overview of various types of visualizations, their applications, and formatting options.
- When to Use Specific Visualizations for Optimal Data Presentation.
6. Practical Examples
- Solving Practical Examples from Real-World Projects
- Applying Learned Concepts in Real-World Scenarios.
- Creating Various Types of Reports and Dashboards: Simple Sales Dashboard, HR Analytics Report, Sales Scorecard Report, Finance Dashboard Report, What-If Analysis Report, Balance Sheet Report, Profit and Loss Report.

Is prior knowledge required?
Basic knowledge of Excel formulas, using financial reports: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, HR analytics, or specific tools for tracking progress.
What language is the training delivered in?
The instruction for this training is conducted in Macedonian.
What is the concept of the lessons?
During the lessons, theoretical concepts are explained, and homework assignments are given, with solutions discussed in class. Experiences from the projects that the trainees are working on are shared and possible solutions and good practices are discussed.
